Welcome to the Stroma blog!
Welcome, readers, to Stroma’s brand-new blog. We’ll be publishing a new post each week throughout the year, focusing on the issues that matter to you most. For our first post, we’ve rounded up the major things that happened in 2014, and what you can expect to read about this year on the blog.
2014 was a busy year for Stroma and the industry alike. We launched new software and schemes and ensured we kept these updated with new features and additions. We revolutionised how our members complete paperwork, digitising traditional forms and data gathering when out in the field with our software launches. Amongst these included our Technical Surveys Form Tool and electrical certificate generation software, E-Cert, which provide a great benefit for those filling out a large amount of paperwork. We also updated our RSAP+ software following the recent RdSAP 9.92 launch, plus new versions of FSAP and GD Tracker were released.
We kept you informed throughout the year about new legislations and compliance, which is an integral part of what we do in providing the framework for members to ensure their work is compliant. We widened our scope of trades in our Competent Person Scheme and launched our new ESOS Lead Energy Assessor Certification scheme.
Being part of the wider community
We’re not just about providing new software updates and launching new incentives – we are also heavily involved in communities, supporting local charities Safe4kids and Kidsafe, and schemes such as Bike to Work and Re-Cycle Your Cycle. We are open to new community projects to support our CSR policies and are more than happy to receive new requests.
Stroma also continue to play a key role in a wide range of regional and national events and we invest time and money into attending these events across the country throughout the year. We cover many group-wide disciplines and endeavour to involve all our existing and potential members to take advantage of the schemes and software we showcase.
We proudly took home the Training Provider of the Year Award at 2014’s Green Deal & ECO Awards and came second in Certification Body and Data & Software Company of the Year Awards. We’re nominated in 4 categories once more in 2015, as well as sponsoring regional events.
With ongoing updates to ESOS and scope extensions to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, plus recruiting more staff to support our services, we expect 2015 to be just as busy, keeping you updated on changes within the industry and offering our own insight into key issues affecting assessors, installers and consumers in 2015.
